F-1 Student Visa for International Students

Why Choose the F1 Visa?

Choosing the F1 visa STEM program is ideal for international students aiming to study and work in the U.S. It enables practical training experiences through Curricular Practical Training (CPT), which is related to your field of study. Additionally, Optional Practical Training (OPT) allows you to work in the U.S. for up to 12 months post-graduation, with a 24-month extension for STEM graduates, providing valuable professional experience and potential career opportunities.

Hybrid STEM Degree Programs

A Hybrid STEM Degree Program is a flexible approach that combines online and in-person instruction focusing on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines. You get to complete most of the coursework at your preferred pace online while attending in-person sessions as necessary.

F-1 Student Visa Programs

The F-1 Student Visa is a US visa that allows you to study in the US and gain experience as an international student.

What is CPT?

Curricular Practical Training (CPT) is a type of work authorization that enables you to apply for off-campus employment with a job offer the school approves. Students can work up to 20 hours per week (part-time CPT) or more than 20 hours per week (full-time CPT) in a field related to their studies. This opportunity helps students earn money and improve their knowledge relevant to their field.

What are OPT and OPT Extensions?

After completing your STEM program, you can apply for the Optional Practical Training (OPT) program that allows you to work in your field of study for up to 12 months. STEM program students can apply for an additional 24-month extension, allowing up to 36 months of work authorization. OPT must be directly related to the student’s major area of study.
