Dr. Sarah Zaklama

Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada

I am Dr. Sarah Zaklama. I am a resident of Toronto, Canada. I graduated from The Canadian University in Egypt (affiliated with The University of Carleton), Bachelor of Mass Communication. Evaluated by: World Education Services (WES), as equivalent to a four-year U.S. and Canadian bachelor’s degree.

I am a Masters holder from the school of Media,Egypt. My Master’s thesis was entitled, “Framing Analysis for the health issues : Comparative study between Egyptian “Ahram” newspaper and American “New York Times” newspaper.” Evaluated by: World Education Services (WES), an equivalent to a two -year U.S. and Canadian Master degree.

I am a holder of a Doctorate of Philosophy from the school of Media, Egypt . My PhD thesis was entitled ,”Factors affecting the arts of journalistic writing in the medical pages of Egyptian newspapers, a study of the content, the communicator, and the public.” Evaluated by: World
Education Services (WES), as equivalent to a two-year U.S. and Canadian Phd degree.

I have more than 10 years of teaching experience across Egypt and the USA .I have worked as a Lecturer in Journalism department, at “MSA University”

“University of Bedfordshire” since 2014 .This university is one of the British universities in
Egypt, so this gives me the opportunity to teach multicultural students, and also I used to work as an Adjunct teaching assistant in Media department, at “Arab academy for science, technology and maritime transport’’, and right now I am working as an Adjunct Lecturer at the Faculty of General studies, “University of the people”, Pasadena, California, United States.

I have taught a number of Media and General courses such as: Introduction to Mass Communication, Arab Media history, Writing for mass media ,Mass Media Theories, Seminar on a special topic , Online journalism, Investigative reporting, Globalization and Introduction to journalism.

I attended and participated in conferences and my objective is to improve the quality of education and continuously upgrade and advance teaching methodology and helping students to acquire a high level of education and open up a brightening and successful future career. Additionally, I am the author of one book about, “Health communication”.

In closing, I believe a university functions as both a research
and teaching facility. I strive to continuously improve my teaching skills and
advance my teaching philosophy at each stage of my academic career.
