My name is Chan Thar, and In 2022, I joined Windsor University’s MBA program, a decision that has profoundly impacted my career and personal growth. My background is rooted in education and management, with a strong emphasis on language instruction. Born in Yanaman, I completed my first degree in 2000 with a specialization in English. I pursued additional diplomas in English from various universities, including Yangon University and the University of Foreign Languages, aiming to become an English language teacher. Alongside teaching credentials from British Council, I acquired a teaching certificate from the UK as well.

In 2016, I obtained an MPA from LSK College. My teaching journey began in 2007 as a private tutor, where I taught languages and other subjects, and in 2018, I joined a college in Yangon as the Deputy Head of the English Department. In this role, I led training for ITE students, collaborating with a UK-based university and preparing students to be proficient in English for professional contexts. I also developed programs for IELTS preparation and general language courses to enhance students’ language skills. Since 2014, my interest in management has grown, prompting me to study for a master’s in management, and I’ve pursued management courses through institutions like AJ UK.

In 2019, I began a PhD at Ediscape College in the Philippines, but political challenges in my country forced me to pause and eventually leave my studies in 2021. Seeking a way to continue my academic journey, I discovered Windsor University in 2022. Windsor’s MBA program has allowed me to refocus on business management and e-commerce, fields I am passionate about, as I am eager to contribute to the business landscape in my country and bring innovative solutions to global markets.

Throughout my time in the MBA program, I’ve experienced tremendous benefits. The course content is engaging and aligns well with my responsibilities as Deputy Head of the English Department. The program has equipped me with practical skills in leadership and management, which I now apply to oversee our department, manage teaching staff, and plan educational programs effectively. The flexibility of the online format is invaluable, allowing me to study on my own time while managing professional and personal commitments.

Overall, the MBA program at Windsor University is not just advancing my career but fulfilling a long-held goal of understanding business management at a deeper level. The courses have enriched my understanding and motivated me to one day pursue a DBA or PhD, ultimately aiming to contribute to the academic and business sectors both locally and internationally.
