Section 01

Why transfer credit?

In short

Graduate credit you already earned can shorten your Windsor MBA by up to 5 courses and lower your tuition.

Finish sooner

Skip up to 5 of the MBA's 10 courses (15 of 30 credits).

Pay less

You only pay for courses you take at Windsor. In the 12-month Accelerated MBA, each course you transfer saves $360, up to $1,800.

Free, quick answer

The credit review is free, and you get a written decision within a few business days.

Your GPA is safe

Transferred courses count toward graduation but don't affect your Windsor GPA.

Section 02

Credits you can bring

In short

Already earned graduate credit, on campus or online, or learned it on the job? These four kinds can count toward your Windsor MBA.

Section 03

University credit

In short

The most common route. Send your official transcript and we compare each course with ours.

What counts

Graduate courses from a university in the U.S., or one recognized by its country's ministry of education. This includes graduate courses you took online through a university on Coursera or edX, when they appear on that university's transcript.

What to send

Your official transcript, sent directly by your university to [email protected], plus course descriptions or syllabi. Transcripts not in English need a certified English translation.

Section 04

ACE credit

In short

If the American Council on Education (ACE) recommended your course for graduate credit, send us your ACE Transcript.

What counts

Courses and professional training with a graduate-level ACE credit recommendation, from providers such as edX, Coursera and others.

What to send

Your official ACE Transcript, sent from your Credly account, plus your course certificate.

ACE credit recommended at the undergraduate level can't be used toward the MBA. Not sure which level you have? Email us and we'll check for you.

edX MicroMasters

In short

Finished a MicroMasters but didn't continue with the partner university? Bring it to Windsor and we'll match its courses to ours.

What to send

Your MicroMasters certificate and your edX program record link. On edX: Profile → View My Records → View Program Record → Copy program record link.

Which programs count?

Business-related MicroMasters programs, such as project management, leadership or entrepreneurship. We review each completed program course by course and confirm which Windsor courses it can replace.

Section 06

Prior learning experience

In short

Learned it on the job? If your work, military service or training covers what one of our courses teaches, you can earn credit for it.

What counts

Learning from employment, military service, on-the-job training or an apprenticeship that matches at least 70% of what a Windsor MBA course teaches. A faculty member reviews it against our syllabus.

What to send

Your résumé; an employer letter on letterhead (role, duties, dates), your military record or a training certificate; and a short statement (about one page per course) explaining how your experience matches the course.

Experience counts toward the same limit as other credit: up to 15 of the MBA's 30 credits in total. We may ask for a short interview or a work sample if we need more detail.

Section 07

Will my credit count?

In short

If your course passes these six checks, it can replace a Windsor course. Prior learning experience (military, work, training) is reviewed as described in Section 06.

On your admission form, say you want transfer credit.

  2. Send your proof of credit

Transcript, ACE Transcript, MicroMasters record or work-experience documents, to [email protected].

  3. We review each course

A faculty member compares each course with our syllabus.

  4. Get your written decision

What was accepted, what wasn't and why, and what you still need to take.
