Mohamed Youssef’s Successful Journey

A learner story about leadership, business ownership, community service, supply chain experience, and professional growth through Windsor University’s MBA program.

1. Can you start by introducing yourself?

My name is Mohamed Youssef. I’m an Egyptian/Canadian based in Alberta, Canada. I come from a diverse background that includes business management, community development, and supply chain operations. I spent over six years in supply chain logistics, including working as an Area Manager at Amazon, where I led large teams and optimized warehouse performance.

2. What do you currently do professionally?

I am the Owner and Operations Director at Easy Landscape Services Ltd., a landscaping and property maintenance company I founded in 2018. I also serve as the Alberta Regional Manager for the National Zakat Foundation, where I oversee programs that support low-income families and equity-deserving communities.

3. Why did you choose to pursue an MBA at Windsor University?

I chose Windsor University because of its flexibility, affordability, and practical approach to learning. As a professional balancing business operations and community service, I needed a program that fit into my schedule without sacrificing academic quality. Windsor provided exactly that.

4. How did you experience the live sessions and interactions with instructors?

The live sessions were engaging and informative. The instructors brought both academic knowledge and real-world insights, making the sessions practical and applicable. They were accessible, supportive, and open to discussions, which made a big difference in the learning experience.

5. Was the program structure flexible enough to fit into your life?

Yes, the program was designed with working professionals in mind. I was able to study at my own pace, access materials online, and attend live sessions from anywhere. This flexibility allowed me to manage my academic goals while running a business and leading community initiatives.

6. What part of the program impacted you the most?

The most impactful part for me was my thesis on AI-driven supply chain optimization. It allowed me to apply advanced academic concepts to real-world challenges I encountered both at Amazon and in my own business. It was a transformative learning experience that I’ve already begun implementing in my operations.

7. What changes have you seen in yourself since joining the program?

The program enhanced my strategic thinking, leadership skills, and confidence in decision-making. I now approach business challenges with more clarity, backed by solid analytical frameworks. Personally, it reignited my commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.

8. How do you think this MBA will support your future goals?

This MBA positions me to scale my business with more structure and data-driven decision-making. It also gives me added credibility in the nonprofit and business sectors, where I aim to grow my leadership role and potentially mentor aspiring entrepreneurs and community leaders.

9. Would you recommend this program?

Absolutely. I’ve already recommended it to several peers. Windsor’s MBA is a well-rounded, supportive, and flexible program, ideal for professionals looking to grow their skills and advance their careers without putting their lives on hold.

10. Suggestions for future students

One recommendation would be to introduce more specialized electives in areas like AI, sustainability, and digital transformation. Adding alumni mentorship programs or project-based learning components could also make the experience even more impactful.
