Student Services
The support Windsor University offers its students, and how to use it.
Your Student Services Team
Student Services are coordinated by Sarah Reyes, Director of Student Services ([email protected]). Student Affairs is your first contact for advising, tutoring, attendance and leave, career support and well-being: write to [email protected] or call +1 202 925 1224. We reply to every message within one week.
Orientation
Before each program and at the start of each course, we hold an online orientation. It explains the Moodle Student Portal, your program and your course. We record each orientation and post it on your course page in Moodle.
Academic Advising
Student Affairs and your instructors advise you on your study plan, course content and any difficulty you meet. In the MBA programs, during the Capstone Thesis course, a faculty supervisor meets with you every week. We record each advising session in your student file.
Testing and Tutoring
You take your quizzes and exams online in the Moodle Student Portal. Instructors give extra help to students who are at risk of falling behind. To ask for tutoring, write to Student Affairs. Alumni may also support students when an instructor arranges it.
Attendance and Leave of Absence
We monitor attendance through your activity in Moodle and keep attendance records. If you expect to be away for a long period, ask Student Affairs for a leave of absence. See the Attendance and Leave of Absence Policy.
Student Retention
If you are at risk of failing a course, we send you a reminder and ask your instructor to follow up with you. We refer you to the right staff member when you need other help. See the Student Retention Program.
Career Support
We hold career events in Washington, DC and online, offer resume assistance on request, and share job and internship opportunities that employers and partners send to us. Windsor University does not guarantee employment or placement; employers make all hiring decisions. See Career Support and Resume Assistance.
Personal and Professional Development
From time to time, we hold online events for students on study skills, time management, budgeting and personal financial planning. We announce each event by email.
Safety and Well-Being
You can report a concern about your health, safety or treatment by other students or staff to Student Affairs or through our complaints procedure. Students with disabilities can ask Student Affairs for support and reasonable accommodation. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services.
Referrals and Local Information
If you need personal counseling, Student Affairs refers you to a qualified provider and gives you their contact details. On request, Student Affairs also gives you information on housing, transportation and child care near our Washington, DC location, or helps you find these services where you live.
Your Feedback
We ask students to complete an anonymous survey every term. Student Services reviews the results with University leadership and records the actions we take. You can also send feedback at any time to [email protected].
