Passionate, engaging, and dedicated professor with the mission to impact people through learning and challenging the status quo, Girish holds a PhD in Management (Leadership) and an MBA. He was awarded Second prize at the Cross-Faculty Graduate Symposium at the University of Witwatersrand (WITS) in 2013 for the best presentation paper based on his PhD research. He has also been a certified facilitator with Dale Carnegie® Training and Leadership Management® International (USA). He has held senior positions in the post-secondary education sector in Mauritius and in Canada. He has taught in various colleges in Canada and is currently full-time Professor of Leadership and Management at Georgian College, Barrie, Canada. He has taught subjects such as Strategic management, Leadership, marketing, Organization & Behaviour, Change Management and international/Global Business, and supervised students’ Capstone projects. He is also a tutor at UNICAF University, Cyprus where he is currently supervising PhD and DBA students in Management.

Girish has completed various adult education training courses amongst which the most recent are the Ontario Extend “Empowered Educator Micro-Credential.” And the Instructional Skills Workshops (ISW) at Georgian College.

He brings 25+ years’ experience in management, leadership development and soft skills training to the classroom. As an entrepreneur he had business in corporate training and higher education. Girish has had a wide experience training in diverse cultural contexts, more particularly in Mauritius and Rwanda, where he has trained thousands of employees in various industries including telecommunications, manufacturing, financial services, retailing and public sector. He is certified as a Master Trainer in Leadership Development with British Council. His enthusiasm, sense of humor and highly motivational presentations help students feel great about their jobs and life, helping them understand their responsibility to their companies and equip them with techniques to interact more effectively. He is bi-lingual (English and French).

In February 2020, Girish been inducted into the African Leadership Magazine’s CEOs Hall of Fame 2020 and conferred with the African Business Excellence Award during the African Leadership Magazine’s Persons of the Year. He is currently residing in Canada.
